Learn More About Our Chaga and Shilajit

What is Chaga?

Chaga is a mushroom that is classified in the family of "Medicinal Herbs". This mushroom is one of the best substances on earth at eradicating dis-ease, and promoting well-being. We personally harvest our Chaga mushrooms with our bare hands, in the wild, to ensure maximum potency, and quality. We believe the potency of our mushroom medicine comes down to our connection to it throughout the process. We love our 'shrooms so that they know how to love you.

Where Do You Source Your Chaga From?

We source from the North Eastern United States of America. Mainly, Vermont and New York State.

We always harvest from Birch Trees to ensure the presence of betulinic acid, and only harvest with the utmost care and respect for nature.

We often couple our Chaga Hunting with a camping trip, bring friends, enjoy ourselves in the nature, and carry that loving, friendly energy with us into our mushroom hunting adventures.

What is Shilajit?

Shilajit is this deeply brown...so deeply brown it appears black, "tar-like" resin found oozing out of the cracks in select high altitude mountain ranges. Weird, right? And incredibly awesome. To understand Shilajit's origin, let's go on a journey back in time...

50- million years ago the earth was in a time of prehistoric, lush, biodiverse plant life from an era where there was no pollution or unnatural contaminants. The heat and humidity of this era made it a heavenly time for dense jungles and rainforests to thrive, and for some context of how truly ideal this time was for plant life, consider, at this time the coast of Antarctica was lined with tropical rainforests!

Now, in this same prehistoric time period, let's hop over to a city called "Gilgit", in Pakistan. It's here where three of the most marvelous, and impressively massive mountain ranges were formed; The Himalayas, The Karakorum, and the Hundu-Kush. At the time of formation, adjacent land masses collided and created mountain ranges over 18,000 ft. tall, sending this super-rich ecosystem for a ride into the sky. Over time, the abundant plant-life decomposed and was secured within the mountains. Now, when it gets warm and the pressure changes, the mountain pushes out a brownish-blackish resin of decomposed, extremely mineral rich and nutrient dense, plant life. Shilajit.

Where Do You Source Your Shilajit From?

Now, it's important to know that not all Shilajit is created equal. The potency and quality vary based on region. A few influences of the quality is minerology of the mountain region, presence of pollutants/fertilizers/chemicals, the altitude, geography, and the techniques used to purify once collected.

We source our Shilajit from the world's highest source point- Gilgit Baltistan. This environment contains a convergence of three of the mighties mountain ranges; Himalaya, Karakorum, and Hindu-Kush. The combination of these mountain ranges make the rock minerology rich and unique, which directly translates into the mineral content of the Shilajit. The atmosphere is pristine, free from pollutants, fertilizers, and chemicals. It is always produced fresh, it is unprocessed, and in other words, it is exactly how nature intended it.

Takeaway: We consciously choose the highest quality.

What are the Benefits of Shilajit?

Shilajit is incredibly rich in two mineral complexes called Humic and Fulvic acids. These acids contain within them over 85 trace minerals that range in effect. We'll list a few effects below:

Increased Strength & Endurance // Recovery // Natural Energy // Fights Fatigue // Increases Motivation // Improves Reproductive Health // Bone and Joint Health // Skin Replenishment // Blood Circulation // Mental Clarity // Anti-Inflammatory // Anxiety Cure // Depression Cure // Detoxification // Enhances Potency of Other Herbs (You're welcome Chaga, buddy.) // Increases Vitality // Adaptogen // Weight Regulation... and more.

Shilajit is so powerful at creating health because it is a transformation agent. What does that mean? Fulvic acid goes into cells, sucks up toxins, purifies them, and spits them back out into your cells as squeaky clean, beneficial nutrients. Yes, it gets rid of disease by turning it into health. Shilajit is also a carrier for other nutrients, so if you're already eating a nutritious diet of plants, and herbs, get ready to actually receive the entirety of the benefit. Shilajit is cool like that.

Final Note on Shilajit in Relation to Soil Quality

Fulvic and Humic acids are something that our soil naturally contains...when healthy. During the growing process, crops uptake these minerals and are imbued with these necessary life sustaining minerals that are intended to be passed on in the circle of life. Recently, though, due to poor farming practices (generated by greed), most of our farming soil has been reduced to lifeless, dry, dirt. The result is that even though this dirt may yield some fruits and vegetables, they severly lack the minerals nature intended for our well-being. Shilajit is a gracious gift that is able to bless us back to well-being, however, we must also support the long term solution as well- buy from farmers who farm ethically and sustainably!
